UDAAN DAY CARE CENTRE
(VIKAS SCHEME OF NATIONAL TRUST )
(FOR MENTALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN)


Introduction

Udaan Day Care Centre has been established on 11th July 2016 under the VIKAS Scheme of National Trust. Presently it is being run & managed by site i.e. S.K.103, Shastri Nagar, Ghaziabad. This Centre is meant for looking after the Disabled children (suffering from Mental Retardness & Multiple Disabilities), during day time. 17 PWD children are taking services in this center.

The building of the Centre comprises of 4 classrooms, 1 physiotherapy room, and 2 other rooms. It is staffed by 1 special educator, 1 physiotherapist, 1 Councilor, 1 Care Giver, and Aaya. The Centre has been fully furnished with office furniture, furniture for the children, educational material and physiotherapy equipment and other gadgets, etc.

Activities in 2020‐21

The effects of the COVID-19 were equally felt on our daycare center, however, again the determination and the efforts of our staff must be deeply appreciated as they undertook exercises like home visits of the students to ensure that continuity of education is maintained for the students.

‐ On Independence Day 15th August 2020 flag was hoisted and virtually students and staff were invited to attend the flag hoisting programme.

‐ 3rd December 2020 “World Disability Day” awareness programme through a webinar was organized on the topic “Distance Education Facilitation for Differently Abled with reference to Mentally Challenged Students” The webinar was attended by multiple special educators and teachers of the school.

‐ On Republic Day 26th January 2021, flag hoisting ceremony was conducted and virtually presence of students and staff was invited.
