On 24th Dec.2020 Consumer Protection Day, a Workshop was organized in Bhagirath Campus. District Labour Officer from Ghaziabad was the special invitee. The students, teachers, staff, and people from the community participated.

District Labour Officer explained that consumer protection is specified in The Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Under this law, Separate Consumer Dispute Redress Forums have been set up throughout India in every district in which a consumer can file his complaint on a simple paper with nominal court fees and his complaint will be decided by the Presiding Officer of the District Level. The complaint can be filed by both the consumer of goods as well as of the services. An appeal could be filed to the State Consumer Disputes Redress Commissions and after that to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC).

He also mentioned the rights of a consumer and how to safeguard them. They are mentionedbelow:-
‐ The right to consumer education.
‐ The right to be protected against the marketing of goods and services which are hazardous to life and property.
‐ The right to be informed about the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard, and price of goods or services, as the case may be to protect the consumer against unfair trade practices.
‐ The right to be assumed wherever possible to access 40 variety of goods and services at competitive prices.
‐ The right to be heard and to be assumed that consumers' interests will receive due consideration at appropriate fora.
‐ The right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices or restrictive trade practices or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers.

Environment

‐ On 5th Feb.2021, a Seminar on SAVE ENVIRONMENT was organized by Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan in IMT Hall. Chief Guest was Mauritius Ambassador in India Jagdishwar Goverdhan. Other distinguished guests were Asha Sharma Mayor Ghaziabad, Vijay Pal Baghel environmentalist, and Amitabh Sukul Director Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan. On this occasion, Chief Guest emphasized the need of the hour is to grow more plants and keep a distance from using insecticides and pesticides.
